Leadville was founded in 1877 and was known for its silver mining camps. By the late 1800's Leadville was the 2nd most popular city behind Denver.
With an elevation of over 10,000 feet, Leadville is the highest incorporated city in the United States. Today it is known for its tourism and skiing with its own airport. |
